The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts entertained their fathers at a Father and Son Banquet on Sat. evening at Port Perry Scout Hall. Our boys belong to 1st Scugog troop. The Couples Club would like to thank .the Baptist Couples who entertained them so beautifully on Sat. evening at the Baptist Church in Uxbridge. All enjoyed a beautiful evening of fellowship. The Utica-Epsom U.C.W. are planning a Pot Luck Supper May 5th at Epsom at 6 pm. There will be a programme. Mr. Peter Rollond will give an illust- rated talk about his home- land, Australia. Another dance on June 17, a week- end of camping in July to reminiscence winter "escapades (and to see who may be the best fisherman or lady) and a picnic some- time in July. Our main interest may lie in snowmobiling but the friendships made during the winter months are kept alive with these few summer events when we can rehash old adventures and plan new ones. April 30 at 11:30 a.m. there will be a parade of 1st Scugog Troop Beavers Cubs and Scouts at Epsom Church. On Friday evening sever- al neighbours visited Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bailey in Port Perry and presented them with a gift from friends and neighbours of the Epsom Community. We do wish them a long and happy married life. Julie, Robert and James Ashton stayed overnight with Grandma Asling. I guess she needed company as Grandpa Donald was attending the Barbershop- pers Spring convention in Hamilton on Sat. with three other members of the ex- ecutive of the Mill Stream Men of Uxbridge group. - Mr. Nelson Ashton, Ash- burn, visited Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ashton one evening last week. We are pleased to let the many area friends of Mr. Delbert Catherwood know that he was able to fly home from Florida where he has been hospitalized for some time. ' His sister Janine of Oshawa paid a surprise visit home for the birthday supper and brought a lovely birthday cake. Congratulations Roger. - Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Evans were dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Evans and family on Sun. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wil- son returned home on Wed. from spending the winter at their home in Florida. On Sun. they attended special service at the church where their son is the minister in Oshawa. They had dinner after service with Rev. Floyd and Mrs. Wilson. Two of our young ladies Di y guests - are to be congratulated They won honourable men- tion at P.P.H.S. Science ~Faw-for a project they had completed in Hydroponic. Last week they took their display to Dunbarton High School for Durham Region Science Fair. There were about 150 exhibits demon- strated there. The girls were guests at the banquet on Friday evening in honour of the winners. Congratula- tions to Anne Tapscott and Jennifer Simmonds. You make us very proud of our rising generation. I hope everyone enjoys the History and Pictures of Past days in Port Perry. 1 don't remember much about the town before I started High School there in 1923.
