This year the kiddies will enjoy the new playground facilities soon to be erected at the park site. Education week saw var- ious activities going on at our local schools. Mothers from the area volunteered their time to assist in creative workshops including sewing, leathercraft, cooking and many other activities. A miscellaneous shower -and coffee party was held in the church on April 13 in honour of Janet Abraham's upcoming marriage. Janet was the happy recipient of many lovely gifts. A beautiful spring day helped set the scene for a lovely wedding last Saturday in Valentia where Ellen Holmes and Bob Bruce ex- changed marriage vows. Reception followed at the ¥ Port Perry Curling Club. Congratulations to this happy couple and best wish- es for continued happiness. On Saturday evening the "Old Timers" hockey team of Seagrave sponsored an awards night in honour of Janet Abraham and David Gemmill, who plan to be married this Saturday at the Seagrave church. ' Martin Fisher, fashioning his new custom made suit, received an award for his supreme ability in coping with the pressures of re- fereeing our hockey greats. Many thanks to Liz and Gregg Smith who opened their home to us for a pre- dance get-together. Many happy returns to Robbie Baster and Barbara Short who contributed to the birthday box on Sunday morning. Welcome home to Mr. Bernie Balling who has spent the last three years in Germany.
