Secretary Vin Walker esti- * mates this total to be approx- imately half of the players in the area, and by the time the teams start their schedules the total should reach three hundred and fifty. Any boy or girl wishing to play softball this season may still register at the practices to be held at the waterfront parks. The age groups and prac- tice times for the two parks are listed in the Star ad in todays paper. Please cut this out and use it for re- ferences for the up-coming week. Minor Softball will be hav- ing Pee Wee Bantam and Midget teams competing in the York Durham Softbali league, and will be playing the same teams as last sea- son. Larry Lee and Ted Blan- chard will be coaching the Pee Wee team and Hillis Wilbur will be managing the Bantams. The Midget entry does not yet have a manager or coach but it is hoped that a volunteer will be lined up this week. Anyone interest- ed in this position, please contact Wayne Venning at 985-2723. ' 3 The large registration means that House League teams will be set up in T-ball, Squirt, Pee Wee and a league for the girls. All volunteers wishing to help coach, umpire, keep score or just cheer, may do so by either coming down to the ball park or by contact- ing a member of the execu- tive. A summer of fun is almost a sure thing when working with the boys and girls. All players still having All-Star uniforms from last season are asked to bring them to the park when attending the work-outs. -- BOWLING -- TUESDAY AFTERNOON LADIES LEAGUE Standings: Tabu Joy High Average: D.
