Mrs. Roy Taylor spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Anson Taylor at their coun- try home at Walker's Point on Lake Muskoka. On Mother's Day they attended St. James Anglican Church in Gravenhurst and' after Church had dinner at Mus- koka Sands Inn, overlooking Lake Muskoka. The Rangers in Black- stock presented their Annu- al Fashion Show at the Recreational Centre on Wednesday evening, May 17th. The program was opened with a "thank you" to the O.N.O. for paying the rental fee for the Centre for the show and to the Pink Dot in Port Perry for pro- viding clothes for the Ran- gers to model. The Rangers ! Susan Gunter, Janet Par- sons, Marlene Parsons, Valerie Van Camp, Lois Van Camp, and Teresa Wygerde did several - quick changes to keep the audi- ence constantly entertained. Linda Caldwell, from the Department of Agriculture and Food, was on hand to demonstrate the varied methods of tieing® your scarves. She also provided the sound system and colourful slides which ex- panded upon the use of scarves to accent a ward- robe. The six Rangers were accompanied by Lois Van Camp on guitar during the singing of: "Our Way", "Let. it Be" and the Ranger theme song, "Let there be Peace on Earth". The many children attending the show enjoyed the penny sale, while cheese with 'breads and coffee or juice were served. Mrs. Blake Gunter and Mrs. Roy Turn- er, leaders of the Rangers shared in providing the commentary for the fashion show. Friday children at the Nursery School learned more about the different musical sounds thanks to four C.C.P.S. students. The morning visitors were John. Green with trumpet and Judy Ayer on flute. In the afternoon, the four-year- olds were entertained by Kelly McLaughlin on her French horn and Marilyn Green with her slide trom- bone. Mr. and Mrs. James Fleming, Eileen and David of Ottawa were weekend guests at, the Schryburt home. This coming Sunday at 11:00 a.m., weather permit- ting, the St. Johns Anglican Church will hold their Annual Rogation Service at the home of George and Norma Wolfe, followed by a Pot Luck dinner at the Parish Hall. DROP-IN CLUB The Blackstock Drop-in Club held their organization meeting on Wednesday, May 17th, with a follow-up executive meeting on the Monday evening. Officers for the club are: President Leanne Van Camp; Vice president Kim Jeffery; Treasurer Brian Dalton; and Secretary Wendy Guernsey. Tentative plans were formulated for a bottle drive in the near future as a fund-raising project. There will be a teen dance on Friday night, May 26th, in Blackstock for teens in the area and prospective mem- bers; further information will be available later in the week by contacting an officer of the club. During the following weeks, the officers plan to attend ser- vice clubs and organizations to ask for support in obtain- ing funds for recreational equipment. Madame Justice Van Camp, Aileen Van Camp, and Eileen McLaughlin were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Drink- water for the Victoria Day weekend in Ottawa. While in Ottawa, they attended festive boat parades on the *- canal, and enjoyed the sight of Ottawa at tulip time. The Blackstock Nursery School will hold an import- ant business meeting at the school on Monday evening, May 29th, all interested in the school are asked to attend as the bulk of the business will concern the running of the school in the fall. + Citizens of Blackstock, don't forget, on May 27th the Hospital Women's Auxil- iary will be holding their Annual Fair and are requesting any interested persons in the area to con- tribute bake goods for sale at the fair. Eric Barr was ordained to the United Church Ministry in Kingston during the Bay of Quinte Conference of the United Church on Thursday evening. His wife is the former Phillis Strong of Blackstock and they are presently residing in her father's home in Black- stock. Rev. Parsons atten- ded the Conference and several members of the Blackstock Charge joined him on the weekend.
