This inquiry has been est- ablished by the four Ele- mentary School Teachers' Federations (Womens', Mens', English Catholic and Franco-Ontarien). It is also supported and funded by the Ministry of Education. Ms. Brock is currently teaching Grade 1 at Ballant- rae Public School, York County Board of Education. Our congratulations to Mrs. Betty Somerville and Mrs. Sharon Jones who have completed their training and are now graduate nurses. * Graduation exercises were held in the Civic Auditorium, Oshawa, Saturday, followed by a dinner and dance which was attended by close friends of Betty and Len. Alovely turkey dinner was the menu for the annual Father and Son banquet held in the Church on Saturday night for the Beavers and their dads. Thank you to the U.C.W. ladies who catered to this dinner. On June 10, Saturday, at 8 p.m. in the church, a com- munity shower will be held in honour of Miss Catherine Nichols. Ladies are asked to please bring lunch. Our Sunday School Anni- versary was held in the Church Sunday morning with Keith Puckrin, our superintendent conducting the service. Mr. Lloyd Wil- - son from Uxbridge was our guest speaker for the occas- ion and the children provided special music. Thank you to Mrs. Joan Lee who works hard organizing and con- ducting the music portion of our service and to her daugh- ter, Alissa, who played the piano for the choir. Mrs. Jessie Nobbs was our birthday box visitor. "The flowers in the church | were in loving memory of Susan Latta. A lovely lunch after the service was en- joyed by all. A Sunday School picnic barbeque is being planned for Sunday, June 25, follow- ing the church service. It will be held in the park and hot dogs will be provided. Families are asked to bring a finger dessert. Games and races will be the order of the day so come and bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the fellowship and fun. Church services are with- drawn for the next two weeks in order that we may attend Greenbank's S.S. Our Seagrave baseball greats took to the mound in Valentia Sunday night and got trimmed to the tune of 25-10 by Valentia. Next' weeks ball game is in our part at 6:30 when Seagrave meets Mariposa. Sunday evening the families of Betty and Len Somerville gathered at Terry's Restaurant to honour Betty on her recent graduation. The '"Cubaree'" was held at Greenbank park Saturday where Cartwright "A" pack won the trophy for the days events. The boys are judged on points for games, uni- forms, . grand howl, etc. Thank you to the leaders of Greenbank cubs, Butch and Judy Latta and to all others who helped to make the day successful. TOWNSHIP OF SCUGOG > NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS TO DESTROY NOXIOUS WEEDS Under the provisions of the Weed Control Act of the Province of Ontario, Public Notice is hereby given to all owners and occupants of subdivided lands within the Township of Scugog that unless the noxious weeds or weed seeds on any such subdivided lands in the Township of Scugog are destroyed by Friday, June 9, 1978 and throughout the season, the Council of the Township of Scugog has directed the Weed Ingpectors for the Region of Durham to cause said noxious weeds or weed seeds to be destroyed in such a manner as they may deem proper, and that the expenses incurred by- the said Weed Inspectors in the discharge of their duties shall be placed on the Collector's Roll of the Township of Scugog against the respective parcels concerned and that such amounts shall be collected in the same manner as taxes under the Municipal Act.
