| Scugog man wants toug A Blackstock area man has called on Scugog Town- ship to take tougher steps to insure that hunters respect - the rights of property owners during the hunting season, In a strongly worded letter to the Council dated. Sept- ember 6, Roland Coy of RR 1, Blackstock says that there is not enough control over hunt- ing on private property, the regulations are inadequate, and there is not enough ad- ministration and enforce- "ment of these regulations, Mr. Coy asks in his letter that Scugog Township pro- tect property owners by im- plementing the following suggestions: - written permission from a confirmed area property owner be presented before a hunting licence is issued and then only to hunt on those lands. - signs placed throughout the Township indicating written permission is requir- ed for hunting on any land in this area. - during a specific hunting season, such as the three-day deer hunt, an adequate en- forcement team and a dis- patch is on duty at the Township office from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day of the season. Mr. Coy's letter states that "many rural property own- ers are experiencing serious difficulty with trespassing and property damage," ana "I don't believe I should have to argue with anyone about whether they are going to leave my property." He suggests that the Min- istry of Natural Resources officials at the Lindsay office are not doing enough to enforce the regulations con- cerning hunting on private property.
