4 Mill opens Mill Hollow [formerly Midgley Mill] operated by Danielle Clark, was officially opened last Saturday by Mayor-elect Jerry Taylor and was dedicated by Rev. Robert Brawn of Port Perry. Approximately 80 local people attended the opening of the building which is not only a business, but the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark. During the ceremony Danielle presented Scugog Memorial Library chairman Chuck Preston [left] with a Nutrition Almanac for use at the library. Clarence Page, Norman Wilson, Floyd Stinson and Clare Robinson participated in the Wilson Staples Bonspiel in Ops Arena winning two out of their three games. Ih the evening the quartet attended the Hockey dance at the Arena. On Saturday evening Miss Candy Malcolm and Mr. Bryce Jemmo hosted a gathering of 50 to 60 people at the Howard Malcolms in honour of newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burns (nee Kristine Jones of Fenelon Falls). This year Zone 3 held their tri- yearly election for Zone director. Mr. Cliff Allen who has served the zone for 3 terms of three years each was nominated for a fourth term and was opposed for this position by your Yelver- ton scribe - Harvey Malcolm - a delegate from Lindsay U.C.0. branch with 14 years experience as director. When the ballots were counted we were pleasantly surprised (if not amazed) to find ourselves elected to represent Zone 3 in the Provincial Board for next three years. Should be quite a challenge!
