Port Perry was in com- plete control of the match from the start to finish. They controlled the tempo of the game with the tough, aggres- sive defence which coach Aaron Dekker's team are noted for, and dominated the defensive boards. The first quarter saw the Tigers score only eight points while the Redmen, seemingly in complete domination of the game, Dekker called for a time-out and loudly disciplined his athletes for not playing their zone properly and for con- stantly showing their dis- pleasure with their missed shots, turnovers and other bad plays. Rob Morris, Mike Patton and Scott Wilbur showed their frus- trations at various times on the court. Big 8-0 Atoms The third quarter was the best for the Redmen as they allowed their hosts only three points while netting twenty-two themselves. After twenty-four minutes the powerful Port Perry team led 61-25. In the final period the Tigers were blown right off the court. The Redmen, counted 32 points and al- lowed Uxbridge ten as the final score showed the Port Perry Redmen with 93 points and the Uxbridge team with 35. Scott Wilbur and Mike Patton headed the offensive for Port with 28 and 27 points respectively. - Wilbur also had 18 rebounds and Patton fourteen. Coach Dekker had mixed emotions about the result. '""The Port Perry team simply did not hustle the way they can in the first half. This resulted in poor defen- sive position and many mental errors. The second half was a total reversal', he said.
