Having a big night for Port in the scoring department. was Tony Oxley with 3 goals, and one assist, Steven Geer and Dave Canning tallied for one goal each, Mike Healey had 3 assists and Rick Hope had 2 assists. Back in Port the following night it was just like a replay "with Port defeating Fenelon Falls 5-3. Although the boys didn't have one of their better games, Merle was there between the pipes to help. them to the win. Scoring for Port were Mike Geer, Steven Geer, Chris Talbot, and Dave Canning with a goal apiece. Dennis Franssen had a goal and an assist. John Robertson and Tony Oxley had an assist each while Rick Young had two assists. The boys played well but the game ended with a 5-2 score for Markham. Tuesday night they travelled to Cannington and managed to defeat Cannington 5-0. This was a well played game with lots of checking. Scoring for the Legionaires was Kevin Ferguson, Steven Lee (2), Jeff Johnstone, and Mike Dickson. Assists went to Jeff Johnstone (2), Kevin Fer- guson, Steven Lee and Howard Lee (3). Wednesday night the Legionaires played an ex- hibition game at home against Bay Ridges. Once again the Legionaires came out on top winning 4-0. Scoring for Port Perry were Vaughn McKee, Ray Meis- 'ner, Darren Desautels, and Brian Stevenson, with as- sists going to Mike Dickson (2) and Fred Cockerton. Friday night the Legion- aires travelled to Fenelon Falls and once again regis- tered a win 3-1. This was a hard-hitting game and the opposition gave the Legion- aires a good fight. At the end of the first period there was no score. In the second period Jeff Johnstone put the Legionaires out front at 4:55 assisted by Steven Lee. Fenelon Falls came right back at 3:57 to score leaving the score tied at the end of the second period. In the third period the pressure was on and Darren Desau- tels scored what proved to be the winning goal at 11:55 assisted by Jeff Johnstone and Steven Lee. At 3:13 Howard Lee Scored assisted by Steven Lee to end the game Port Perry - 3, Fenelon Falls - 1. Scoring for Fenelon Falls was Ron Campbell assisted by Rod Jukes. Fenelon Falls goal was the first goal scored against the Legionaires in the last five games. At the present time in league play the Legion- aires have 78 goals with only 16 goals against. Quite an impressive average. Saturday noon saw the Legionaires in exhibition play against Banks Black Hawks from Oshawa. This turned out to be one of the best games the Legionaires have played all year, defeat- ing the Oshawa boys 2-0. Scoring for the Legionaires was Howard Lee and Kevin Ferguson assisted by Jeff Johnstone, Fred Cockerton, and Vaughan McKee. On Sunday night the Legionaires hit the road again to play an exhibition game in Lindsay. This also was an exceptionally good game. Both teams played very well and this time Lind- say came out the victors defeating the Legionaires 2-0. Scoring for Lindsay was Brian Beukeboom, assisted by Robert Bradt. This goal came at the 8:30 mark of the first period. In the third period Jeff Brown scored at 5:29 assisted by Craig Williamson. After all that action the Legionaires are going to rest until Friday, December 8 at which time they meet Beaverton. Game time is 9:00 p.m. at the IScugog Arena. 'Also mark Sunday, December 10 as a day to get out and follow the Legion- aires to Uxbridge, game time is 3:50 p.m. Broomball Action by Charlie Brown C & B Livestock -6 Beacock Hardware - 2 Beacocks came out on fire to get the first goal, but after awhile C & B put out that fire winning 6-2. C & B's goals were scored by Rob Evans with three goals and one assist. Single goals went to Mark Lee, Ken Bryant and Bob Ryan. Assists went to Don Phinney with 2, Ken Fraser, Ron Redman, Bruce Woodrow and Mark Lee picking up single assists. Beacock's goals were scored by Ron Wagg and David Dalton with assists going to Mark' Graham and Keith Dalton. Big scores in Ringette Games by Doreen Kendall too late for last week Saturday November 25th, saw all our teams playing at home. In the "Tweens" section "Ives" blasted Irvins to the tune of 7 to 1. In this one sided contest Rhona White came through with four big goals. Pam Daniels found the mark twice and Lori Spears scored a single. Nancy Young picked up a single assist. Scoring the lone goal for Irvins was Jackie Abraham. Four penalties were assessed, two to each team. The "Belles" game was also a very one sided scoring affair with 'Childrens Bouti- que" taking Chris Allen Aluminum 11 to 1. Goalie Wendy Burton was phenomi-: nal in net and stopped the other team cold. Karen Young scored four goals, Paula Haugen scored three. Wendy McDougall with a pair, singles were credited to Cheryl Doherty and Brenda Foote. Assists went to Janice Jackman with a pair, Paula Haugen with a pair,. Wendy McDougall with two. Singles to Doris Riseborough and Cheryl Doherty and Jackie Abraham. Special mention has to be made regarding Janice Jackman and Jackie Abraham from the junior division who gave a spectacular display of '"'Ringette". Congratula- tions girls. Scoring the only goal for "Chris Allen" was Bonnie Bridge assisted by Tracy Filion. "Chris Allen" obviously missing their big gun Sherri Allen who is on the injured list. We hope she will be back soon. Larocque's goals were scored by T.R. Bryant, Kopie DeJong and Bill Bridge. Assists went to Bill Bridge with 2, and Larry Page with one. Brian's Towing's goal was scored by Steve Preston unassisted. Utica Auto Body - 3 Troski's - 0 This was a tie game until the 3rd period and that's when Utica broke loose scoring three: goals. Don Card picked up a shut-out.
