The Block Parent or- ganization in Scugog is already well established in the Blackstock, Nestleton- and Caesaréa areas of the Township, and in addition to Port Perry and Prince Albert, there are plans to set up the organization in rural areas and other smaller communities. Anyone interested in becoming a Block Parent is invited to attend the meeting on January lo. The Block Parent organi- zation essentially provides houses where youngsters can some kind of difficulty. A spokesman for 'the organization says that so far about 30 applications have been received for Block Parents in the Port Perry area, and it is hoped that the public meeting will substan- tially increase this number. The meeting will be held Wednesday, January 10 in . the library room of R.H. Cornish School in Port Perry - and it gets underway at 7:30 Mary Cannon [left] of the Hospital Auxiliary presented a Care- ette incubator to the materity ward of Port Perry Hospital last week. The new machine, the first of its kind at the hospital provides a controlled atmosphere for all new borns who will spend a couple of hours in the Care-ette shortly after birth. - Maternity ward nursing supervisor Jean Mountjoy is with Mrs. Cannon. The machine cost $2,400.00 and the money was raised by the Auxiliary.
