@ Pitching a tent in the snow and sleeping out for two nights on a bed of straw may not sound exciting to most people, but about 36 young Scouts and - their leaders from the Pine Ridge District did just that over the past weekend. It was the first winter camp-out held by the local group and it began last Friday night when the Scouts were taken along the Nonquon River to an area about one mile west of Seagrave. Here the boys and leaders organized camp- sites, pitched tents and took part in fellowship before settling into their sleeping bags for the night. According to one of the Scouts, although the temper- ature was around zero, they did not get "too cold." Saturday was spent parti- cipating in various events after starting the morning out with a hardy breakfast at 8:00 a.m. It was then on to hockey, skiing, snowshoeing and obstacle course activi- ties. In the evening, the boys gathered around their camp- fires for fellowship before heading back to the warmth of their tents. .
