Dr. Suzuki will speak at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13 at the Eastdale Collegiate Auditorium. His topic will be "The New Genetics - Genetic Engineering." These lectures are spon- sored by the Durham Board of Education, the Ontario Ministry of Education, Durham College of Applied by Mrs. E. In spite of a very stormy evening a good number turned out to the Burns church annual meeting, the reports for the past year were reviewed and several plans made for the coming year. It was also a very stormy morning last Sunday but there was a pretty good turn out at church. Rev. McEntyre had a good message entitled "writing your Epitaph' and the choir sang "My heart sings Halle- lujah". The officers of the WMS and Ladies Bible class were installed during the service. You are especially welcome at the regular service next Sunday at 11:15 a.m. and church school at 10 a.m. Next Wednesday evening the ladies Bible class will meet at the home of Mrs. E. Heron. All ladies are welcome. Many of you will remem- ber the Rev. Wm. and Mrs. Perry, who were minister at Port Perry and Ashburn, a number of years ago. Some of these stu- dents may be comtemplating science or technology as a "career and be assisted in their career planning. It is felt that the lecturers will motivate students and rein- force their science studies in the classroom. In addition to Dr. Suzuki, who is widely known as host of CBC-TV's Science Magazine, there are lectures 'by Dr. John Wells, Forensic Chemist, who will speak on Forensic Chemistry in the Durham College lecture theatre at 8:00 p.m. on March 13. Also a presenta- tion on April 10 at 8:00 p.m. in R.S. McLaughlin Col- legiate Auditorium by Dr. M.J. Bronskill, eminent Cancer researcher on 'The Physical and Medical Imaging of Tumors."
