1 SEhS ERAT BC 22-- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, March 7, 1979 Novice team splits games with Oshawa After a lay-off of no hockey for a week the Port Mersco Novice All Stars went down to defeat to the Little N.H.L. Black Hawks with a score of 6-3. Oshawa went on the score- board first with a goal at the eight minute mark. Two minutes later Port retaliated with a goal from Jamie Menzies to Andrew Steele, who was up from house league to replace our sick players. Again Oshawa would not let up and scored. Port again tied up the score with a pass from Mike Sorley to Robbie Brown. The second period was fairly evenly fought with both teams again on the board. Port's goal was a three man rush with Robbie Jamieson to Steven Connors who set up Ronnie Crawford who tipped in at the corner. In the third period Oshawa controlled the play and scored three more goals. Saturday saw a re-match of the same two teams with Port this-time coming out the victors with a score of 5-3. Goals for this game went to Mike. Sorley, Connors, Robbie Brown, Mark Barkey and John | Lally. Assists were credited to Robbie Brown, John Lally 2, Robbie Jamieson, Scott Feasby and Ron Crawford.
