But there are some whose problems are multiplied by the birth of twins or triplets. If we take a moment to consider the great difference in feeding, caring, and diapering for two, we can imagine the overwhelming responsibility of a multiple birth. - There is a national organi- zation formed to help people in these situations get through some of the trials of raising twins. POMBA (the parents of multiple births association) was started in Calgary in 1975. ee Cnt i MORTGAGE SALE SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE 498 Scugog Street, Port Perry, Ontario Under and by virtue of the Power of Sale con- tained in a cerlain mortgage which will be produced at the time of sale. there will be offered for sale by: AUCTION on MON., APRIL 23 at 9a.m. . Karen Diceman, a former Port Perry resident, has picked up on the idea since becoming a mother of twins. When she found out that her pregnancy was not a normal one she was sent to another mother of twins, Rita House. Together these two women contacted an Oshawa resident, also with twins, Olga McQuay. Mrs. McQuay had been interested in forming this type of club at an earlier date but the plans fell through when the woman she was working with moved to Vancouver. She kept the idea alive however, by listing her name with Infor- mation Oshawa, in order to give advice to mothers or expectant mothers of twins. The three women contac- ted between 30-40 whose names were found on an original list, which was compiled in response to a story and picture that ran in an Oshawa paper. The story concerned the woman who originated the idea in Durham but later moved to Vancouver. The Durham Region Parents of Twins Club has Bank of Montreal Brent Hoag G.L.
