We spent our time doing various activities to keep busy. On Wednesday August 1st we held Green Thumb Day at playground. The children learned about the tulip bulb and got to plant their own bean seeds to keep. The older children went rollerskating Thursday morning. In the afternoon we all went down to the ambulance service for a tour. The children got to see inside the ambulance and learned about the equipment inside. They also learned how important an ambu- lance is and the job of an ambulance attendant. We would like to thank the staff of Brignall"s Ambulance Ser- vice for the tour and donat- ing their time. Friday morning Port Per- ry held their fund raising event. The children did a great job washing all the by washing cars cars and working together. I would like to thank the com- munity for their support with our event. We went for a tour of the Print Shop on Tuesday Aug- ust 7th. This was a very interesting tour and I'm sure the children learned many new things. We really appre- ciate these tours and would like to thank the staff of the Print Shop and Mr. Janssen. Today, Wednesday we will spend the whole day at the Bowmanville Zoo. This Friday, August 10th, all the playgrounds will be holding the Penny Carnival. It will be held at the Latch- am Center from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All children are invited and they can bring a friend. Since the Carnival begins at 3:00 p.m. Port Perry play- ground will end it's Friday afternoon session at 2:00 p.m. This will give the staff some time to set up.
