1+ Ps Marina operator 'pleased' (From Page 1) spring came as a surprise to him. "I admit I was in violation of the lease terms", he told council. "But 1 always thought I was a good tenant, and had never caused the 'Township any problems." Mr. Kendry told council that since 1977, he has put about $16,000 in materials alone into the marina build- ing, and that it was this year and the next two when he expected to start to see a return on his investment there. He asked council to re- scind the motion cancelling the lease agreement and work out a 12 month arrange- ment beginning this Nov- ember. Mr. Kendry told cou- ncil that the marina provides service for 600 regular cust- omers, of which about ten per cent live in Scugog Town- ship. Part of the reason the lease - arrangement was terminated in May is that council is presently in the process of preparing a study of all the property along the Port Perry waterfront now owned by the Township, and there is a possibility the marina may be moved some day to a new location further north near the boat launch- ing ramp. When the long range 'with lease arrangement waterfront study plan was mentioned briefly at the meeting Monday night, Mr. Kendry told council that he has a friend who would be working this week on a plan for the waterfront from the boat launching area to the baseball diamonds. Council members said they would have no objection to looking at this plan when completed, but pointed out the Township would not be under any obligation.
