John Theodore cabaret a great success by Ruth Nixon Did you find yourself just sitting around Saturday evening, feeling bored and blah - wishing something exciting and different would happen? Well, it did, Saturday Aug- ust 4th at Port Perry Town Hall. The School of Creativity presented something new, a cabaret. "Who is John Theodore", directed by the president of the school, Dan Racicot. The Town Hall was not full, but if the sound of the thunderous hand clapping was any indication of how much everyone enjoyed themselves 1 would have to say it was a very successful evening. It was an evening of song, humour, and music from the 60's presented in night club style. The cabaret was done in exceptionally good taste. Among the many who sang were some of our own local talent. Mark Tapper, 13, sang and danced his way through many songs for which he received a great applause. An electrifying set of songs were presented by Elizabeth Paddon and Claudia Leip- shier. When Ed Canhing, another local resident, started sing- ing in the balcony, down the stairs, and through the crowd, the audience loved him. All were accompanied on the piano by John Theodore, from Prince Albert, a talent- ed musician, who played a great variety of music to Les Parkes as the old prospector. everyone's delight. HARDSAND Many voiced the opinion that they wanted the evening FENCE & PATIO to go on and on. TRE Sound like fun?
