According to Mrs. Heintz- man the philosophy of the workshop is to "fit" the various programs to the employees for maximum training benefits."' She add- ed that the ultimate goal is to provide the employees with training 'which will allow them to eventually find employment in the private sector. Getting the project "off the ground" has been a long process, going as far back as 1972, when the idea was first discussed. If the weather is favourable on Sunday after- noon the official opening ceremonies will be held out- side, and when the ribbon cutting is complete, it will be a proud moment for many people who worked very hard to make the idea a reality. °° The program gets under- way at 2:00 p.m., and is by invitation only. However, the general public will be welcomed to attend an "open house' -at the workshop starting at 3:30 p.m. the same day, Sunday, Septem- ber 16. - Society begins fall season Members of Scugog Choral Society have returned to Town Hall 1873 for. their weekly practices. Wednesday, a week ago was the fall season's first rehearsal for the upcoming big production of Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert. and Sullivan. The next rehearsal is tonight (Wednesday) and it's important that as many members as possible will be present. , After the many fine suc- cesses the choral society established during the past three seasons, it is expected that the present production will be of the same high artistic caliber and received with the same enthusiasm by the public. Pirates of Penzance will be performed the latter part of November. : MACHINE REPAIRS J In Your Own Home @ 20 Years Experience !
