Despite the loss Port Perry skipper Don Orr praised the goal- tending supplied by Christie and Paul Bateman. The second period was the most productive one for Pickering as they managed five goals in the 15 minute span. They netted two in the first and four more goals in the final period. On November 26, Port Bombers close, but not enough Port Perry Belle Bombers sponsored by Children's Boutique came to within 30 seconds of tying Whitby in the Blue Bombers best game yet as far as strategy is concerned. Our defensive triangle and the defense being more involved offen- sively paid off in spades. We meet Whitby again on Satur- day mayby we'll get them then. The 'Blues' thank two juniors Rhonda White and Janice Jackman for their all out efforts in replacing miss- ing teammates last Satur- day. Accolades to centres Karen Young and Wendy McDougall for their blue line patrol. Scoring for Port in an almost effort of 4-3 for Whitby was Rhonda White with 2 goals and Chris Heur- kens with 1. Sportsmanship Award to Doris Risebrough for her best game this year and her extra effort to attend the game. Keep it coming, Doris! Special award to Bev Raines and her committee - for such a super job on the Ringette Float in the Santa Claus Parade. LS Ven Perry dusted off Sunderland by a 7-3 margin on the strength of two John Butler goals. Butler added an identical number of assists. Sunderland opened the scoring at 11:26 thanks to captian Wayne Snoddon's first of two goals. Snoddon added a third period goal when the outcome was assured. Ron Rumford retaliated for the Broncos less than two minutes after Snoddon when he banged home a shot off the sticks of teammates Butler and Kurt Roane. Butler got his second assist on Tom Nicholls goal 1:14 into the middle session. Todd Menzies also pitched in on the score. Rumford's marker was the first of four straight Bron- co's goals. He was followed by Nicholls, Dennis Gatchell, and Jim Daniels. Daryl Carnochan got a point on the Gatchell goal. The Port Perry scoring spree was stalled by a Sund- erland score from Murray Doble with-2:25 to go in the second period. Butler put the Broncos back on track with a goal less than a minute to play. Butler and Todd Healey added third period markers. Healey's was assisted by Carnochan's and Butler's by Menzies and Nicholls. The day before the Sunder- land win Port journeyed to Beaverton and emerged with a 52 win. In a written account of the match, Coach Orr said, '"This was a game where everyone played well. Our third and checking line, of Daniels, Grant and Vizely, and Karl Beer, have now notched important points and big goals in five consecu- tive games and it is taking the pressure off the two other lines. The defence is starting to jell, with Nicholls, Keith Trembley turning in sparkl- ing performances. Shawn Bryan had a big game for Port as did Wallace and Nicholls." Port Perry again fell behind when Beaverton's Brian Harrington scored ona goal mouth scramble. Karl Beer came back with his first goal of the year to even it up. Healey scored twice and Bryan and Vizely added singles to put the game on ice for Port Perry.
