Many from Blackstock attended to wish this popular couple best wishes. The Santa Claus Parade in Port Perry was a fine succ- ess. Our local High School had a float in it. Many from here attended it and also many both young and not so young enjoyed the presenta- tion of Bracko, the Frog Prince at the Town Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bryans 0 spent the weekend with Mr. Fenelon Falls and attended the wedding dance of Glen Sheehy and Janet Warming- ton in the Coboconk Legion on Saturday night. Congratulations to Neil &é and Noreen Malcolm who have become first time grandparents with the arriv- al recently of Jamie and Jennifer's baby Con- gratulations fo all. General U.C.W. Meeting PS On the morning of Novem- ber 29th, 34 ladies and child- ren met in the Christian Education room for the November U.C.W. meeting. After lunch served by the afternoon unit, President Dora Martyn opened the meeting with a poem on Friends. Donna Kyte presented a Christmas worship service and taught us a new song "Christmas is Here". Our two quilts are in the Treasure Corner at Port Perry hoping for a buyer. Music honours Two students of Marie Devereux, will receive Silver Medals from the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music, University of Wes- tern Ontario, for achieving ¢ the highest marks in the Province of Ontario in the 1979 examinations sessions. Kim Foreman received 88 percent and Pirst Class Honours in Grade IV Singing Examination, and Christina ¢ De Jonge received 86 percent in the Grade VIII Pipe Organ examination. Silver medals are awarded annually, and the student must have completed all the Theoreti- cal requirements for that prescribed grade. . It is indeed a high honour, to receive such an award, as there are several thousand examinations tried through- out the Province each season. and Mrs. Bill Bryans at It was decided to give the 0.N.O. a donation for the use of their dishes at banquets and weddings. The Blackstock Bargellos had a party to celebrate the ending of this club and the handing in of the workbooks. They enjoyed a pot luck dinner consisting of casser-~* oles and desserts.
