One can hardly pass up the breath taking sight as they look down into the quaint little village nestled amongst the glow of Christmas lights. Someone once said that Christmas is for the little ones but I'm afraid I must contest this statement after the lovely White Gift Service and the lighting of the Advent candle last Sunday morning. When both young and old enjoyed the kick-off to the Christmas season is such an inspiry. Then on Saturday Santa made his debut at the Seagrave Store under the condition that Gloria and Dorothy will be good girls again for another year! Everyone enjoyed lots of fun and Santa with his little helpers passed out treats to his big and little fans. Christmas parties are also at their peak and 1 might add the hospitality is at its usual finest. Qn that note a reminder to the ladies of the area that they are invited to attend the Fellow- ship Sister Dinner this even- ing Wednesday Dec. 12 at 6:30 at the new Crandell's Riverboat.(Port Tavern). From what I hear the committee has planned a fabulous evening of fun. As previously stated if you do not have a fellowship sister bring along a gift valued at approximately $3.00 and join in on the fun. Friday evening Dec. 14, at 7:00 Santa will once again blaze his trail to Seagrave at the close of the Sunday School Christmas Concert to treat all the good little boys and girls an some big ones as well. The children that are participating in the concert are asked to be at the Church approximately 20 minutes before the opening. The parents and grandparents are reminded not to bring an extra gift for the children as the Sunday School is looking after the gifts this season. There may just be a couple of tickets left for the Seagrave Park Dance being held Saturday Dec. 15 at the Catholic Church Hall but you had better hurry. If you haven't bought your tickets and wish to go please call Bert Hutcheons or Frank Branton for tickets. Unit II of the U.C.W. are also reminded of their Christmas party and meeting to be held on Tues- day Dec. 18 at Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Smith's home. All members are invited to come and join in with the Fellowship. The candlelight service on Christmas eve will be held at the Greenbank United Church on Monday Dec. 24th at 7:30 p.m. Offering envelopes of 1980 will be available and anyone wishing a box of envelopes for the first time please contact Mr. Bert Wanamak- er. Church and Sunday School were held as usual on Sunday morning with the lighting of the Advent Candle by Miss Mandy Cavanaugh. Our birthday box contribu- tors for the past couple of weeks were Mr. Gregg Smith Miss Michell McAskill, and Miss Lois Adams. Happy Birthday to each of your folks as well as Mrs. Mari Gibbons and Master Joey Stone who also made it through another year. A special welcome to Mrs. Sheila Sears who has kindly consented to help write the column. We will still gladly accept any other offers to help with this little job. Santa took time out from his busy schedule on Saturday to visit with the boys and girls in the Seagrave General Store. Here Santa can be seen with [rear left] Lois Adams and Crystal Shortt. [ Front left] Casey Jones, Theresa Enzi, Jason Enzi and Connie Carr. Welcome aboard, Sheila. The Greenbank School Christmas Concert has been planned for Thursday Dec. 20th at 7:30 at the Greenbank Hall. © All members of the Community are invited to attend this concert. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Beacock and boys attended the Beacock Christmas held at Don's brothers Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Beacock on Sun- day afternoon.
