The President, along with the other officers and their wives, and our King and Queen, occupied seats at the head table. The charter members, who are getting fewer each year, were also in attendance. A beautiful dinner was catered by Dorothy Lee and her helpers, was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The programme opened with a recitation by Marion King "A Visit from St. Nicholas." Dickens Christmas Carol was then put on and was a decided success. Costumes, actors, scenery all took us back a long way in time. Scrooge (Mack Whybrow) was still the old squeezing sinner, the Ghosts were excellent and altogether, the director, Marjory Webb deserves much credit for her efficiency in this play. "A Bachelor's Life" was then read by Marion King which was a very comical side of bachelorhood. Winn Philp then led our choir in several Xmas Carols which were much enjoyed. This brought a happy dinner to a close. Low automatic transmission fluid, high eng- ine idle speed, a sticking manifold heat valve - even unbalanced wheels - can rob your car of good gas mile age.
