[ Photo by Cam Muir] [ Big win for Atom Selects over Lindsa by Doreen Kendall Sunday, February 10th the Don Forder Insurance Atom Selects played host to Lindsay and rose to the occasion to defeat this team to the tune of 7 to 3. The Forder Selects played with great determination and resolve and were rewarded with this well earned win over Lindsay, a team that had trounced us soundly on two previous occasions. Scoring for the Don Forder Selects saw Michael Gibson put the puck away off an excellent pass from Jamie Cannon. Less than 2 minutes later Jamie Cannon found the mark on a blistering shot from just inside the blue line. From that point on it was Port Perry all the way. 'Bobby Bryan picked up a goal with assists going to Andrew Steele and Brad Traves. Mark Barkey scored a single marker with Craig Venning and Jamie Cannon picking up assists. Craig Venning found the mark off a pass from Michael Gibson. The big gun of the evening was Robbie Brown with two big "goals, Andrew Steele, Calvin Brewster, and Jamie Cannon picked up assists on Robbie's markers. Mark Kendall and Kevin Cearns shared the duties between the pipes and each boy made some key saves. This was a determin- ed team and they gave a super effort for the win. Well done team. Our next home game is Friday, February 15th at 7:00 p.m. against the Uxbridge Selects. I hope you can join us. Bantams A and B hold 3-0 play-off lead over Uxbridge by Danny Millar It took them an overtime period to do it, but the Port Perry Bantam B's grabbed a three game lead in their best of seven playoff round against the Uxbridge B's. Port Perry won 2-0 in over- time on Wednesday, Feb. 6th at Port Perry. Paul Kingston recorded the shutout for Port. It was the second in three games as Doug Arscott blanked Uxbridge 5-0 in the second contest. Uxbridge won the first game but it was over- turned on a protest from Coach Dave Giannini. Uxbridge was using a player whose card was not readily available. Port Perry had a casualty in the recent win. In the first IVIE INSURAN period Gregg Williams was taken to the hospital with a broken wrist. Williams is the smallest player on the team and is one of the hardest workers. If he cannot con- tinue then he will be missed, if Port advances past Uxbridge. Steve DeHaas scored the winning goal at 1:34 of the extra session when he slammed a rebound past goalie Steve Prozenko after Mike Thompson had shot. Ian Dickson got the other assist. Mark Kerry got the insurance goal with 3:54 remaining in the ten minute frame when he tipped in a long pass from the boards off of Peter Qosterholt's stick. RSO CE AGENCY by Danny Millar Port Perry Beare Motors Bantam A's put a strangle- hold on their hockey series with Uxbridge by taking a 6-2 win in the game held on Wednesday, Feb. 6th. Port went ahead 3-0 in games and they did it without their best player, captain Donnie Young. John Vaz and Jamie Lane picked up the slack left by Young as they played excel- lent games. Lane scored twice while Vaz had three assists. A strong perfor- mance was submitted by Russ Jones, who scored the first and last goals of the game. ¢ After 1:59 had gone by Jones scored on a slap shot from the blue line from Vaz. | 193 QUEEN STREET - PORT PERRY 985-7306 The one you're looking for ALL LINES OF GENERAL INSURANCE Nl.
