Steve and Cathy Bourque and baby Alexander of Oshawa attended Nestleton United Church Sunday morning at 11:15 a.m. with her parents Bill and Shirley Nicholls spending the remainder of the day at their home in Caesarea. Cadmus Presbyterian Church Nestleton A good attendance at the Church service on Sunday, Feb. 10th with Mrs. Scott playing the organ. Rev. Fred Swann chose Holy Scriptures: Matthew 10 and Luke 6. Sermon theme: Calling of the Twelve Deciples. Rev. Swann mentioned a likeness in quality of the Deciples to the people of today. Recently 12 hymn books were dedicated in memory of Edward Lennard by the congregation, also 12 Bibles were dedicated in memory of Rose Briggs by two members of the Presbyter- ian Church. We extend a cordial welcome to next Sunday's Service at 11 a.m. at Nestle- ton Presbyterian Church. - North Nestleton United Church A much better attendance at the Sunday morning service, Feb. 10th, no doubt due to the most acceptable weather we're having. Rev. Victor Parsons spoke on Faith Come Alive, based on Holy Scriptures I Corinthians 14: 1-12 and John 4: 1-14. In the choir Miss Gail Malcolm sang the beautiful old sacred number "Trust and Obey" with Mrs. Mabel Cawker presiding at the electric organ. p<) eT yo "5 oN Offering received by Mr. Norman Mairs and Mr. Ralph Sadler. A warm welcome to attend next Sunday 11:15 a.m. at Nestleton United Church. Notice "Called to Become"--A conference for Ontario women of the United Church will explore issues for women in the 80's with speakers on bible study, workshops, worship, song, drama and dance. A time of renewal, inspirational, information and celebration. It will be held June 20-22nd at Waterloo University. Any Church member may attend. If you so desire your minister and U.C.W. presi- dent have information and registration forms. Caesarea news Comment With the election coming up Feb. 18th, we understand this riding had three candi- dates of outstanding ability, so get out and vote for the one of your choice. Over the centuries the franchise was a hard won privilege and if everyone entitled to vote stayed home, we would be carelessly throwing away that privilege paving the way for dictatorship. Non-voters are often the loudest complainers. As the successful candidate must secure the majority of the votes it must follow that the major portion of voters will have the right to rejoice in their candidates success. News for next week phone 986-4715 and make your correspondent happy. The quilting class of Florence Smith and Myrtle Snelgrove recently donated this quilt to the Scugog Public Library.
