Letters Policy The Port Perry Star believes that the "letters to i: the editor" page is one of the most important in the # newspaper. # It gives you the reader a chance to air your point of view, a chance to be critical, orto offer praise when you think it is due. The Star's policy concerning "letters to the editor" is that the full name, address and phone number of the writer must be included in the letter, so that the authenticity of the letter can be verified. We strongly urge all letter writers to allow their names and addresses to be published with the letter, as this lends credibility to the writer and what he or she has to say. \ Under certain circumstances, the Star will with- hold the identity of a letter writer if requested, and if we feel the reasons for the request are valid. However, under absolutely no circumstances will the Star publish a letter that is unsigned or signed with a "nom de plume" of any sort. We urge our readers to use the 'letters to the editor" column. We consider it an important forum for communications within the community where we all live ' Jerry Cochrane of Port Perry was surprised recently when he was informed that he had won a iuke-box from a raffle held in Toronto. Jerry now has the $2000 valued Rock-O-La juke-box in his recreation room along with the 160 records that came with it and says it is great for the kids. Geta C.U. Loan Whether it's an R.R.S.P.
