Although the final score ended up 7-1in favour of Whitby, all the girls played a good game. Joining the girls from the school for the game were: Heather Muir, Kelly Fowler, Beth Russel, Allyson Mit- ~ chell, Diane McDougall and Natalie Franssen. The only goal for Port Perry was scored by Kelly Fowler with the assist going to Karyn Raines. This will conclude the skating school season for this year and I hope that Jessica, Jennifer, Karyn, Tina and Kim will continue with their ringette next year. It was great having them in the school. It was very much appreciated. by Marg White The Port Perry Ives Florist Juniors travelled to Hastings for the Ontario Regional Ringette Tourna- ment. Our first game was with Stayner, a team we had never played before on Saturday. Port opened up the scoring 31 seconds into the game then Stayner came back with two goals but Port popped two more in near the end of the period. It was a tough game to win but Port came out on top 6-4. Our next game was against Oro whom we had played once before in a tour- nament. They are a hard skating and very aggressive team so we knew we had to be on our passes and shots. Oro had the lead after the first period 4-1 but Port kept trying. The final score was 7-4 for Oro. In our second game on Sunday we met Stayner again. They scored first early in the period and Port couldn't tie it up until the 5:15 mark of the first period. Port. scored three quick goals before the period was over. Then there was no turning back. Final score 8-2 for Port. Our third game of the day was against Lindsay whom we havé met in three exhibi- tion games over the season. Port won with a score of 9-0 but Lindsay had some good chances. In our final and fourth game of the day, we met Oro again for the Championship. The girls gave everything they had but to no avail, Oro was stronger and better. The final score was 7-1 for Oro.
