The Hospital Auxiliary held their regular meeting March 17 in the Prince Albert Hall with a good attendance. A delicious Pot Luck luncheon was served at 1 p.m. We were very pleased to see a good number of volun- teers out, along with Mrs. Faye Taylor, Marilyn Hoskin and Norma Kenny. A short meeting was held with the Secretary giving her report and the minutes adop- ted. Camille Crozier repor- ted for the Tuck Shop and Hazel Coates reported the arrival of 13 girls and boys in the last month at the hospi- tal. A special tribute was paid to those who have done so much knitting. Some of those ladies were able to be at the luncheon being Mrs. Grace Cherrie, Mrs. R. Corner and Mrs. Sandiland. After the meeting Mrs. Gertie Wanamaker intro- duced Mrs. Millie Noakes and her daughter Elizabeth from Oakwood, who gave an interesting demonstration on making ribbon flowers. The afghan was also on display, Norman DeJong [centre] was judged best male actor for his role in the play "Say Uncle'. Sandra Little [right] was runner up and Pat Reeder was third. Blackstock area news . by Joyce Kelly On Monday, the fifth Annual Mudcat Bonspiel was . held at our local rink. Twelve teams of students from Cartwright Schools along with some from Port High participated in the three games. Competition was very keen with Brian Dalton's rink made up of Leanne VanCamp, Tim: Cochrane and Robert Green taking first place prize and the trophy. Second place went to Terry Barton, Mike Barton, Todd Bartley and Steve Barton. Valerie Van- Camp, Brian Mikkelsen, Kevin Elliott, and Rob Graham won third place. The students voiced their appreciation to teachers Randy Scott and John Bar- ton for organizing such a successful event. The Annual G.W. Kelly Mixed Bonspiel was held on Tuesday with twelve local teams participating in a day filled with fine curling along with lots of fun and fellow- ship. Gerald announced the winners of the Trophy and first prizes were Neil, Elaine and Howard Bailey and Sharon Holliday, Second was taken by Harold McLaugh- lin, Anne Lee, Lawrence and Linda McLaughlin. Third place winners were Dale VanCamp, Talya Moore, John Larmer, and Valerie VanCamp while Merrill VanCamp, Helen Green, Ted Kemp, and Shirley Holliday were fourth prize winners.
