Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sadler Nestleton attended the annual presentation of "Music, Music, Music' held in the Town Hall, 1873, on Saturday evening, April 26th and report a most enjoyable entertainment. On the evening of Saturday April 12th Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sadler, Nestleton and Mr. and Mrs. Richard MacKenzie, Caesarea, were present at the Hackney Banquet and Awards night held in Hespeler, Ontario. Richard and Janice were winners of the three year old Futurity Award and Ralph and Leona won the two year old Award. Congratulations! Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. L. Malcolm were Mr. Stanley Malcolm, Port Perry and Miss Gail Malcolm, Blackstock. Miss Laurie Malcolm has returned to Peterborough where she has obtained summer employment. Nestleton United Church On Sunday morning for the service at 11:15 a.m. Rev. Victor Parsons used as his theme, "What It's All About" taken from Holy Scriptures: I Corinthians 3: 1-15 and Luke 6: 12-26. Reception Following Church service a reception was held to honour Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Malcolm and children, Bradley, Tracy, Derrick and Scott who are moving to Albérta next week. After all had partaken of a bountiful lunch, including a cake beautifully decorated for the occasion by Mrs. Arlene Malcolm, Rev. Victor Parsons called the group to order and expressed the best wishes of all present to Nancy, Vernon and family, on this new venture. He called on Mrs. L. Malcolm, U.C.W. president who read a brief address and made a presentation on behalf of the U.C.W. Next, Mr. Robert Mairs, Sunday School Super- intendent reminisced briefly and presented gifts to each member of the family on behalf of the Sunday School. Vernon ably expressed appreciation to all and extended a warm invitation to visit them in their new home near Stetler, Alberta. Family Party Aylwin and Brenda Haines Nestleton, hosted a family get-to-gether in honour of Vernon and Nancy Malcolm and children on Saturday evening. Those present to wish them well re- their new life were family members: Mr. and Mrs. Victor Malcolm, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malcolm and family, Nestleton, Mr. and Mrs. "DAIRY BAR On the Waterfront - Port Perry - 985-8611 Mark Malcolm and family, Janetville, Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Kent and family of Orono, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cain, Bethany. Nestleton Presbyterian Church A very good attendance at the service on Sunday, April 27th at 10 a.m. Rev. Fred Swann read Holy Scriptures: Luke 24 and John 20:19-29, using as his topic "The Reaction of the Resurrec- tion". The Disciples were in fear and doubt then Jesus re-appeared and talked with them. The moment they found he was alive every- thing changed. They believ- ed all he told them before he was crucified. In the choir Mrs. Shirley Scott presided at the organ. Service next Sunday at 10 a.m. Everyone welcome. Social and Personal Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thompson, Nestleton spent last weekend in Beaverton with Grant's sister, Mrs. Vera Warmington and attended the dedication service in St. Andrews United church, for Grant's sister, Mrs. Marjorie Francis. In the afternoon they all joined the Francis family for a reunion. Approximately twenty members of the family were present. A Dr. and Mrs. Jack N. Marlow of Dundas were overnight guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thompson of Nestleton. Sympathy Very sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Donald Thompson of Nestleton. He has lived his entire life in this community and will be sadly missed by all. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Muriel and other relatives and friends. Social Mrs. Anna Smith of Saska- toon, Sask. and Mrs. Clara Warren, Port Perry, were luncheon guests of Mrs. Mabel Cawker, Nestleton at Crandell's Riverboat on Wednesday at the noon hour. This was a little farewell luncheon for Anna as she is returning to Saskatoon in the near future. We trust she will be back to Ontario soon again, renewing friendships. We shall miss her.
