The Port Perry Yacht Club had some unexpected visit- ors a week ago. Lynn Harper and some friends were caught by the sudden rain storm and sought refuge at the Yacht Club. They were ably assisted by the Lanes' and the Willis' as they waited at the Clubhouse for Mrs. Harper to pick them up. Next time fellas, re- member to bring your rain- coats. Congratulations to Nick and Diane Willis on their new acquisition. A 25 ft. Chris Craft! Mom and Dad, Bill and Audrey are excited and happy for you. We all wish you happy and safe boating. Congratulations are also in order for Jim Cline. Jim has retired from Ontario Hydro after 41 years of service. Jim and Ruth are looking forward to a leisurely summer aboard their Georgian Steel Houseboat, the "Mrs. C." I've been told that communication with the outside world won't be a problem for the Clines this year! Enjoy your summer Jim and Ruth. I understand that Bill Whiting has also recently retired. I'm sure that Bill Antique cars at Scugog Museum Scugog Shores Museum is praying for sunshine for Sunday July 13. For with the sunshine comes approxi- mately 20 cars from the Antique and Classic Car Club of Oshawa - Durham. The cars, most of them from the 20's and 30's are expected between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m. Special museum demon- strations will include ice- cream making (strawberry and vanilla), spinning, weav- ing gingerbread making (yum, yum, yum), printing, and china painting. Come on sunshine! and Ruth will enjoy the extra time aboard their boat this summer too. The Yacht Club had quite a few visitors this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Moore and Mr. John Moore were visiting Bill and Audrey Willis on Sunday. Bill and Audrey also had the pleasure of their daughter's company all weekend. Welcome Mary Jane, it is nice to see you. Jim Northin's daughter, Leslie and her husband Ross were visiting Dad aboard the Bee Jay this weekend too. Attention Boaters! The small yellow marker located adjacent to the 2nd buoy coming in from Lake Scugog is there to call your attention to the rather enormous log beneath it! Beware! Well, it seems that the Booth family has been very busy lately. Bill Jr. has graduated from Centennial College this year. Bill was enrolled in an Electronics Technology course and he has now joined his Dad at "Motorola." Think you'll stay as long as your Dad, Bill? The Booth's daughter, Susan, and her husband Ian have presented Bill and Vera with a bonny wee grand- daughter named Heather. Just two weeks old! Con- gratulations Grandma and Grandpa! If this isn't enough excitement for Bill and Vera, it seems they are about to take off on a short holiday to the Thousand Island Resort Club. The trip is courtesy of Bill's company. Good work, Bill. Have a wonderful time! Rumour has it that Leroy and Marilyn Hoyte are going to launch their sailboat this coming Saturday. Are you sure you've got all the twinges and cricks out of it, Lee?
