The 1980 edition of the Port Perry Fair kicks off this Saturday August 30 and con- tinues on Sunday and Labour Day Monday. Of course, the events centered around the agricul- ture tradition of the Port Perry Fair will be as strong as ever this year with top prize money in the numerous livestock competitons. The beef competitions on Sunday will feature five breeds of cattle: Hereford, Aberdeen Angus, Short- horns, Charolais and Sim- mental. There will be dairy compe- titions for coloured cattle on Monday, as well as the Ont- ario County Holstein 'Black and White Show" which trad- itionally has attracted exhi- bitors from some of the top dairy farms in Ontario. The history of the Port Perry Fair goes back many years, and its well-earned reputation attracts exhibit- ors and visitors from all over this part of Ontario.
