Married near Bancroft, the couple spent most of their lives farming near Blackstock before retiring several years ago. They were honoured by family and friends at a party August 31. Local couple celebrate their Diamond wedding anniversary Sunday, August 31 was a very happy day for Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wright when they had the pleasure of receiving their friends, relatives and family on their Diamond Wedding Anniversary at the Christian Education Centre of Blackstock United Church. Mrs. Wright was wearing the pearl set necklace given to her by the groom at their wedding. On September 15, 1920 Isobel Rutledge and Carl Wright were united in marriage at Monteagle ~ Valley near Bancroft. After their marriage they settled on the family farm now owned by Mr. and Mrs. John Carnaghan, Blackstock, where they continued the traditional operation of gen- eral farming with-Register- ed Shorthorn Cattle and Leicester Sheep. Both were active in many farm church and school organizations. After thirty-five years they retired to Blackstock. Mr. and Mrs. Wright had three daughters, Pearl Bil- bey, deceased. Allan Lawrence M.P. called at the family home to bring his greetings. Mrs. Ken Steele, Ottawa, niece of the bride telephoned her congratulations.
