Crestwood wrap up golf season with fall Chilly showery weather greeted the . 21 dedicated souls who tied off in the Fall Fun Day, while a dozen less hardy stayed dry in the Club house enjoying cards and conversation. Winners of the Lemon Tree Golf Trophy were Janice Simmons and Paul Siddle, while the low score winners were Benny Ross and Bill Watson, followed by Kay Watson, and Jim Walker and Yvonne Barclay with Bruce Haugen. An informal dance follow- ed a meal of fresh corn and hot dogs with all the trim- mings. Legion Appreciation Day - 41 golfers teed off September 14th in the first Legion Appreciation Day, repre- senting Cannington, Lind- say, Port Perry and Sunder- land Branches. Winners of Full Golf Membership for 1981, cour- tesy of Bill and Karen Hues- tis were as follows - Ladies Low net - Yvette Arsenault - Port Perry. Men's Low Gross _- Paul Brandon - Sunderland. Karen and Bill plan for the event to become an annual fixture at Crest- wood in recognition of the worthwhile Community Services performed by the Legions. Tri-Club Events - Sixty one ladies from Lindsay, Duns- ford and Crestwood Golf Clubs enjoyed a nine-hole Best Ball tournament at Crestwood Golf Club on Tuesday, September 16th. After a most sumptious lunch, prizes were awarded to the various teams. First place was captured by the team of Eleanor Nicholls, Dunsford; Pat Marshall, funday Crestwood; Jeanne Filmore, Lindsay and JoAnne Banks, Crestwood. Tied at second was the team of Gert Deyell, Lindsay; Thelma Innis, Dunsford; Jackie Bradt, Crestwood; and Jean Emer- son, Lindsay and the team of Kay Watson, Crestwood; Kay Watling, Lindsay; Betty Grills, Dunsford; and Aileen Griffiths, Lindsay. The Junior Championship, sponsored by Norm Budd and Lloyd Nelson produced low gross winner Steve Doran and Low Net was captured by Murray Brethour. Murray Empring- ham defeated Harry O'Connell in the final of the Handicap Championship. A full golf membership will be awarded to the winner, cour- tesy of Bill and Karen Huestis.
