Sympathy Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of the later Marshall Malcolm, his wife Ruth and daughter Anne of Stratford, brother Percy of Toronto and a host of other relatives throughout the area. Marshall was well known in Nestleton and Blackstock circles in his younger days and will be missed by many friends. Deepest sympathy is also extended to Mrs. Vera Aber- nethy of Bowmanville in the loss of her husband Jim over the past weekend and to the Abernethy family. We trust Verna will enjoy better health soon as she has been in hospital in recent weeks. Note: Sunday School North Nestleton The regular Sunday School classes have now been in operation since September and parents are invited to bring their children to this very worthwhile part of Christian Education. With Mr. Robt. Mairs continuing as - Superintendent, wife Carol as pianist and a great staff of teachers assisting, your children will receive the many benefits of Sunday School training needed. A warm welcome awaits you at both Sunday School and Church at 11:15 a.m. every Sunday. Try to have a news item for next week. Remember - triumph is just a little "umph" added to "try". Yelverton news by Harvey Malcolm Mrs. Audrie Brown accompanied by a lady friend have just returned home from a motor trip to Calgary, Alberta calling at Banff and other scenic' spots en route. Unfortunately they were ~ plagued with' quite a bit of - rain which did little to add to the enjoyment of driving. I guess Rabbits are like cats - théy don't like rain! "This week it was our pleasure (the Speaker of the House and myself) to motor to Windsor to be present on September 25 at the Grand Opening of the new Grain Terminal situated on the Detroit River for deep sea or ocean going vessels. The Hon. Eugene Whelan, Federal Minister of Agricul- ture and the Hon. Lorne Henderson, Ontario Minister of Agriculture and the Mayor of Windsor, his Worship Bert Weeks were distinguised guest speakers on the occa- sion and assisted Chairman Bob Coulthard and C.E.O. Julian Smith in unveiling the plague commemorating the official opening. It was quite an honour for we U.C.O. Directors to share the plat- form with such respected dignitaries. This is the first large grain elevator to be built in Ont- ario for over fifty years and was referred by the Hon. Gene Whelan who was in earlier years himself "a director of U.C.0. as a mag- nificent edifice which should serve the farmers of south western Ontario in the ex- porting of grain to foreign markets for many years to come. This formidable building, which was to have been completed at least a year earlier, but whose construc- tion was held up because of inter-union wrangling with jurisdiction disputes between U.S.A. dominated Unions which had to be settled .not in Canada but south of the Border, will cost in excess of 27 million dollars. It also serves a large adjoining soya-bean plant in loading and unload- ing their requirements shipped in by boat from U.S.A. and other points.
