The Potters were in Vermont this weekend and Jeffrey returned for the week for the mid term break. The Epsom Utica Social Club had a wonderful time at the square dance party in Manchester Hall on Satur- day evening. Just loads of good fun. Mrs. Asling and Mrs. Ashton called on Mrs. Doug Wilson, Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Rodin and Mrs. Lee last week to welcome the babies that have arrived during the summer--to"bless their marriages. Robert and Jamie Ashton were Saturday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Asling. In the afternoon they accompanied Grandma and Grandpa Asling to visit great Grandma at Whitby Fairview Lodge. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kerry, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stearman and Mr. Enoch McKnight were Sunday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kerry. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Goslin attended Port Perry L.O.L. ladies night banquet and dance at Prince Albert. Many friends joined them for a dance after the supper. The local members of Uxbridge Choral Society participated in the Sunday evening program at United Church in Uxbridge. Several from the commun- ity attended 4H awards night Saturday October 25. Con- gratulations to all who took part in this youth program. The October meeting of the Bethesda-Reach Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. O. Brethour. Twenty-five members and guests were present to hear our guest speaker Mrs. Helen Rumbul from King City who attended associated Country Women of the World Conferénce in Germany last May. The theme was For- ward Together. Her humor- ous and informative presen- tations of the highlights of the conference and her ex- tended tour of Europe chall- enge our ideas of Citizenship and World Affairs. The motto, A Man's feet should be planted in his own country, but his eyes should survey the world, was answered by Mrs. L. Pogue. A special and delightful part of the program were several songs by Christine Hempen who accompanied herself on the guitar. Thank you very much Christine.
