It has been 70 years since the Girl Guide Association was founded in 1910 in London, England by Agnes Baden-Powell, sister of Lord Robert Baden- Powell, who was the founder of Boy Scouts. Later that same year, Mrs. A.J. Malcolmson formed the first Canadian Girl Guide Company in St. Catherines Ontario. 'Port Perry Guiding began in 1947 when Mrs. Joan Godley formed the 1st Port Perry Company. The 1st Brownie Pack was formed with Mrs. Emily Badour as leader. Today Port Perry: District is made up of four Brownie packs, three Guide companies and one Path- finder group.
