Last Wednesday evening found our church basement all decked out for Christmas. All the ladies of the commun- ity gathered together for a scrumptious dinner, a Christmas service and fun entertainment and lastly to find out who had been their Fellowship Sister all year. It was a wonderful evening from start to finish and the committee of gals who put it all together are to be congratulated and thanked whole heartedly. Please remember the Seagrave Sunday School concert being held Friday, December 19 at 7:00 p.m. Santa will be there to distri- bute goodies during the evening to all the good boys and girls. Seagrave Community Park Committee hosted another successful dance at the Catholic Hall in Port Perry Saturday night. Next year's dance is already in the making and will be held on Saturday December 5 with our famous Irwin Smith at the organ. A message to all Beaver parents. The Scouting family of Seagrave and Greenbank (Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers) are giving a gift of song to their communities next Sunday night (Dec. 21). The Caroling Caravan will leave Greenbank Church parking lot at 6:00 p.m. Some parents are needed to drive the children between sections of the caravan. The children will carol in Green- bank, Robinglade, Mariposa, Seagrave, ending up at Sea- grave Church for refresh- ments. Come and listen. After the delicious casseroles and desserts were enjoyed Florence Ashton welcomed the men and began the meeting with a lovely poem "Why Can't It Be?" The scripture was read by Bernice Gardner and prayer was led by Nellie Hopkins. After several Christmas Carols were sung, Muriel Fisher introduced the speak- er for the evening Mr. Lloyd Wilson of Uxbridge. Mr. Wilson's talk was based on building Christmas charac- ter and he gave us an inter- esting and challenging message. The 1st Brooklin Boy Scout Troop, which several of our boys belong to, with their leader Mr. Ralph Martin, attended Burns Church together last Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Art Oliver and two sons assisted Rev. McEntyre in lighting the Advent Wreath. The Junior Choir sang Christmas Time is Here Again. Rev. McEntyre's message, taken from St. Matthew, was entitled, A Time to be Generous and the Senior Choir sang Shepherds Shake off your Drowsy Sleep. The sanctuary was beauti- fully decorated with candle arrangements and beautiful poinsettia. Next Sunday will be the Christmas service and there will be a candlelight service in the church at 7:30 on Christmas Eve. Mr. Roger Smith had a business trip to Bogata, Columbia, South America, last week. Rev. and Mrs. Ken Heron of Bracebridge were over- night guests with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Heron on Friday and Satur- day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gardner and Jean recently attended the wedding of Miss Kathy Ross to Mr. Kenneth Bonnell in Don Mills.
