Eleanor Davidson took over the meeting, as our Presi- Lodge Master installed The Fidelity Masonic Lodge 428 in Port Perry held ceremonies December 8 for the installation of new lodge Master Earl Whitaker [seated, front row]. Eleanor opened the meet- ing with a good reading "Grandma is off her rocker' Senior Citizens meet by Marion King Wednesday Dec. 10 was the regular meeting of Senior Citizens Club 101.- We opened by singing O Canada with Aleta Leask at the piano. Ethel Irvine, presi- dent, welcomed two new members. We had the various committee reports read and adopted. We will be recognizing the January birthdays on Jan. 14 with a birthday cake. Janu- ary 21 will be a pot luck supper with pictures after from the travel club, "I'm proud 'to be me." The meeting closed with Mizpah Benediction after which lunch and euchre were enjoyed. Attendance 84. On Thursday Dec. 11 the Nursing Home was visited by the choir and quite a few of the. Senior Citizens. We sang three numbers, follow- ed by a Cello solo by Edna Beckett. Marion Webster sang O Holy Night. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kerry and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Clark sang some old familiar songs dressed in old fashioned clothes. The choir then sang two more numbers. Mr. Duff thanked the Senior Citizens Choir for entertaining them. A dainty lunch was served and a social time enjoyed. Guild makes plans for the New Year by Jo Dowson On Wednesday December 10th, the Guild members met in St. John's Church Hall for the annual Christmas Pot Luck Luncheon and gift exchange. The food was deliciéus and the fellowship greatly enjoyed by those present. A short business session was held after lunch at which plans were made for the January and February meet- ings. It was decided that Lillian Harper and Alva Thompson would teach Crewel Embroidery. At the January meeting members are asked to come equipped with a long eyed embroidery needle, embroidery hoops, a piece of factory cotton material, odds and ends of tapestry or other fine yarn and a pair of scissors. The Bake Sale had been a real success, despite the bad weather last Friday. Norma Kenny, Volunteer Co-ordinator reported one new volunteer, but she could do with more. Mary Cannon gave a very interesting report on the Fall Conference held in Toronto in December. Eleanor closed the meet- ing, and all enjoyed a lovely lunch served by Marjorie McDermott and Ann Currie, and a social half hour. A Christmas exchange of gifts was a feature of interest which all enjoyed. Bernice Mairs voiced appreciation to Neta Fish and committee. Mrs. V. Parsons, on behalf of tiring efforts as President for the last two years. Meeting closed with Mizpah Benediction and a Merry Christmas to all. Social Miss Patricia Marlow and Brian Wilson of Dundas were Monday luncheon guests with her parents, the Grant Thompsons. They called on other relatives as well. Latest news re - Mr. Roy Cornish! very happy to report some improvement in the condition of Roy this week (Thursday noon). We trust he is on the way to recovery.
