Those rates are payable upon registration. If the youngster eventually makes the competitive team, his wallet is lightened by another ten dollars. There- fore the most any child will have to pay will be $17.00. This motion was carried at a general meeting, Sunday March 22nd. A bigger problem for the PPDMSA was brought to open discusion and was tabled for another meeting after no decision could be reached. So far, the Executive has been unable to find a volunteer to co-ordinate activities for the operation of the concession booth at the Joe Fowler Ball Park for the summer. The biggest problem areas occurr during the tournament weekends, of which there are three. Murray Parliament and Vin Walker have handled it last year and two years ago respectively and both drew praise from the other Execs for the jobs they have done. The booth is one of the biggest money makers for the PPDMSA. Last summer they raked in a total of $1,800 with the lion's share of that coming from the Midget Men's fastball and Lob Ball tournaments. It was suggested that a five man committee which will include Mr. Parliament, President Robert Cooper and Vice-President Wayne Venning, be set up to look into the situation. The Executive also had trouble scraping up volunteers to solicit team sponsors for the coming season, before finally ending up with three. It will be a one day affair, tentatively set for July 18. If it goes through as Port Perry wishes, it will include mixed teams of boys and girls selected by the house league programs. The PPDMSA also intro- duced a new rule change for house league players this summer. From now on, the battipg order will include the entire roster instead of the usual nine. This way, every- one on the bench will at least get a chance to hit, even if they don't play in the field for the first half of the game. Each house league player in - Port must now play half the game defensively and this rule will add to a player's plate appearances. Emmerson's started it off - in the first period with scoring the first two goals. IGA tied it up early in the second period but then Emmerson's got four unanswered goals. IGA tried to come back with two more goals but it wasn't enough. The scoring for Emmersons was shared amongst the team with Robbie Tobin, Mick Cracknell, Kevin Jackson, Brian Goble, Earl Myers and Ian Tomchishin all getting singles.
