Mr. Douglas Johnston of Calgary spent the weekend with his family here. ~ [ - Fallis - Leger On Saturday October 4, 1980 Rosemary Elaine Fallis youngest daughter of Moira and the late Max Fallis of Blackstock and Robert Alan Leger, son of Irene and Ed Leger of Stouffville exchanged their vows at Blackstock United Church with Victor Parsons officiating. Brother of the bride Doug Fallis gave the bride away. Attending the bride were Betty Jean Moyle - sister, as Matron-of-Honour, and Suzie Fallis, Karin Mekkelsen and Cindy McColl as bridesmaids. Ron Evans was best man and Brian Norton, Paul Carruthers and Eric Winter- stein were ushers, all friends of the groom. * The reception and dance following were held at Black- stock Recreation Centre. Rosie and Bob honey- mooned in Hawaii and on their return took up res- idence in Stouffville. Prior to her marriage Rosie was honoured with numerous showers given by Karen Lomax, Deny Oosterholt, Dorthy Marlow, Cadmus neighbours, Yelverton U.C.W., Debbie Uzell, Jean Waddy, Cindy McColl, Karin Mikkelsen and Mary O'Connor. Also a Jack and Jill shower was given by Linda and Ron Evans. Chambers - MacDonald The marriage of Miss Bonnie Bernadette MacDonald daughter of Mrs. Geraldine MacDonald of Stephenvilley Newfoundland to Mr. John Charles Chambers son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Chambers Prince Albert, took place on December 6, 1980 at Prince Albert Unitéd Church. Reverend Robert Brawn officiated at the ceremony. The wedding music was. played by Mrs. Eva Hunter, with Mr. and Mrs. Murray" Elford singing "If That Isn't Love'" and "The Hawaiin Wedding Song." The bride, given in marriage by her brother-in- law, Mr. Peter Sheppard of Oshawa, was beautiful in a full length gown of polyester crepe; with an empire waist- line, and scoop neck line with lace insert, she wore a hooded cape which fell into a chapel train and accented with malibou fur trim. She carried a bouquet of deep lavender carnations and white roses. Mrs. Sara Anderson of Oshawa, sister of the bride was matron of honour. The bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Chambers, sister of the groom and Mrs. Judy Muéller of Oshawa. Miss Sonya and Master Shawn Sheppard, niece and nephew of the bride performed the duties of flower girl and ring bearer for their aunt. Mr. Neil Chambers, brother of the groom acted as best man. Ushers were Mr. Myles Anderson, brother-in-law of the bride, and Mr. David Chambers, brother of the groom. The reception and dance was held at the community centre Nestleton, Ontario. The happy couple are currently residing in Hawk- insville, Georgia. J Strong - Waller Port Perry United Church. was the setting for a lovely evening wedding on Feb- ruary 6, 1981 when Donna Marie Strong, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Strong became the bride of Robert Stanley Waller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Waller. Rev- erend Robert Brawn officiated at the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her uncle, thé bride woreva formal gown of organza oy taffeta mandarin neg fitted sleeves and bu ler front panel. The gown Was trimmed with shantilly lace forming a' cathedral lace train, a head piece of matching lace accenting with pearls and sequins held a finger tipped veil, with an applique of same lace. The bride carried a bouquet of pink roses and stephotis. Mrs. Dianne Wilson sister of the bride was matron-of- honour. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Nancy Giroux, sister of the groom and Miss Germaine Lagana friend of the bride. The brides attend- ants -were attired in floor length garnet coloured gowns. They carried bouquets of white daisies and pink carnations. Mr. Joe Giroux brother-in- law of the groom was best man. The ushers were Mr. Bill Waller brother of the groom and Mr. Richard Lewis cousin of the groom. The groom and his atten- dants wore silver grey tuxedos. The reception dance was held at the Port Perry Latcham Centre. The newlyweds residing in Oshawa.
