Two more girls from Port Perry High School have advanced tp the COSSA meet. Sarah Johnson and Lisa McKinzie join three other females in the journey to civic fields on wednesday, May 20. Johnson recorded the best placing of any rebel when she came in second in the midget discuss field event. PPHS coach Gerry Cole termed her performance "Quite Good" and predicted that she might advance to the regionals. McKinzie, last year's female most valuable per- former, came in fourth in the junior girls 200 meter sprint. The coach was then asked if he was disappointed in the fact that only five rebs advanced past LOSSA. "Well you're always pleased with the five that made it', he said, "and unhappy about the 35 in the halls that didn't", The last statement is an allusion to the long held Cole theory that many students are capable of competing but will not put forth an effort. He complained about the past three years as the foot- ball team faded. Still, the veteran skipper took it philosophically, "sports are for the interested so I guess we've got the best," he concluded.
