a on ------- Ge ---- Council seeks library study (From page 1) could be lost. . Although the motion to ask the Library Board and the Senior Citizens Club to look into the possibility of moving passed unanimously by council, both councillors Don Crosier and John Wolters expressed reservations. "How can we tell the Township lawyer to continue the fight at the OMB (over the Water Street location) and at the same time explore the possibilities of using the Latcham Centre as a library building," he said. Councillor Crosier said he would like more time to consider the idea, and once during discussion he sugg- ested that the motion be tabled until the next council meeting. Just how the Senior Cit- izens Club or the Library Board will react to the sugg- estion remains to be seen. Senior Citizens president Roy Grierson said after the meeting that the club would discuss the idea at a meeting this week '"'with an open mind." However, he said that with 198 members, he doubted if the Queen Street library building would be large enough for club functions. He said he couldn't predict how board members would react to the idea, but did say that the Board is committed to expanding library ser- vices in the Township. Mr. Preston added that at one time, the Latcham Cen- tre was discussed as a poss- ible building for a library, but the discussions never reached the serious stage because the Latcham Centre is used by the Senior Citizens Club and other organizations on a regular basis.
