Sail Past and Blessing at Yacht Club on June 21 by Donna Phypers A number of canoes found their way safely to the Port Perry Yacht Club on Satur- day. The Club, again this year, offered their facilities as a check point to the more experienced canoers and as a final stopping place for the younger enthusiasts entered in the "Canoe the Nonquon" race. Club members gave assistance to the North Shore coffee and the club offered sandwiches and coffee, donuts and lemonade to the tired and hungry racers. Many thanks to all who helped at our end and congratulations to all those who participated in the race this year. - I'm glad to see things have settled down a bit for our club's newest members, Briand and Sue Dempsey. to the mayhem, it doesn' t matter how much of a mess is made, because you don't have to clean it up! My compliments to the chefs of this year's Skippers' Breakfast (especially the bacon detail) and a special thank you to my, henceforth, favourite waiter, Nels.
