Sympathy is extended to her daughter Marian - Mrs. John Mew and grand- children Jane and Robert all of Toronto, to her sister, Mrs. Norman Green and' many other relatives. She will be saddly missed by her many friends. Glad to report that Mrs. Peter Hoogeveen has return- ed home from her stay in the hospital. Week-end guests with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Larmer and family were Mr. and Mrs.' John Bint and Cheryl of Belleville. Mr. and Mrs. Bint attended the pretty wedding of Mr. and Mrs. David Lane on Saturday at the Anglican Church in Port Perry. A miscellaneous Bridal shower was held on Sunday June 14th at the home of Mrs. Grant Larmers' for Tracy Kilburn of Oshawa with 30 people attending. Tracy is to- marry Barb's nephew Gregg Kehoe on August 8th. Gordie and Joy Malcolm spent the weekend in Ottawa. Last Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Neil Malcolm attended tke McMorrow -Price wedding in St. Marys Church, Lindsay. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly attended his uncle's, Mr. Joe Hunter funeral on Friday at Lindsay. : Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson and boys had George's mother Mrs. Lily Wilson, Pickering and aunt Sadie Hanlon of Scar- borough, England as guests for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walker of Regina, Saskat- chewan were weekend guests with his nephew Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly and family. f Many from this area attended and participated in the Millbrook fair and at pull over the week- end. Two groups of Guides and Pathfinders attended 4 Camporee at Darlington Park on Friday evening till Sunday afternoon. Those attending were Anne Hooge- veen, Eleanor Kelly, Dawn Locke, Elaine Kelly, Monique Rioual, Karen Otto, Susan Traquair, Sharron Dwyer. Mrs. Dwyer attend- ed as leader. They enjoyed visits with Larry Hosken and Cindy and Brian Lee with their delightful twins. The Women's Institute chartered a bus trip to the Milton area last Wednesday. The first stop was to tour the very interesting Peel Regional Museum. Follow- ing this a tour of the Ontario Agricultural Museum at Milton proved very interest- ing. ie Mrs. Reta Berrill of Bowmanville spent the weekend with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Gibson and Eleanor. Interest continues to grow for the Reunion of the former students and teachers of S.S. Number 4, Purple Hill to be held on Sunday, September 13. Reserve the date and pass the information along to other involved people. people. E Miss Verena Graham of Toronto visited her cousins Mrs. Ross Duff and Mrs. Murray Byers over the weekend. She met many friends at the Decoration Service. Sorry to report that Mrs. Oscar Graham is a patient in Port Perry Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Al Aston (Mary Bradburn) and sons Jeremy and Jonathon of Texas enjoyed a holiday in this area visiting her mother Mrs. Helen Bradburn and other relatives. Last Sunday a family gathering was held in the Town Hall when many family members came to visit with Al and Mary. At the Senior Citizens' weekly card party on Tues- 'day evening there were - seventeen tables with the following winners - 1. Sidney Brown-90; 2. Ken Whitting- ton-88; 3. Mary Brown-84; 4. Meta Swain-83; 5. Ann Bessie Alsop; 50-50 Draws - 1; Elmer Johnson 2. Maxine Brock. "- The Bake and Yard Sale held on Saturday morning at the Cartwright Central Public School grounds for the raising of money for sports equipment for the both schools proved to be fine success. ~~ Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hope hosted a family gathering when approximately * forty relatives attended a combi- nation birthday party and shower in honour of newly- weds, John and Heather Hope now living Lucan. Among those celebrating birthdays were Bill Sturman and Beth Hope who have - recently turned sixteen. Recently Roy and Mildred " Hope visited John and . Heather Hope at Lucan for a weekend.
