We also thank all those who contributed to the program with vocal and piano selections, the read- ings, the master of cere- monies, the men who col- lected for the presenation and the ladies who worked in the kitchen and served the lunch. All those present will remember the combined Communion service with Seagrave and Pinedale last Sunday. It was a real treat to see all the seats full with some in the gallery. The message was mean- ingful and appropriate for Rev. Roundell's last regular service on the Greenbank charge. We wish to thank the Seagrave junior choir with Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Tobin and the Greenbank and Pinedale Jesus Said ... "Except a Man be Born Again, He Cannot See the Kingdom of God." Trevor Till was in Arm- prior last week end with the Lake Shore A major midget hockey team competing in a tournament reporting 1 loss and 1 win. The tournament Scugog Island by Mrs. Earl Reader We trust the Island Church S.S. had more pleasant . weather for their picnic this week. Attendance at church on Sunday was understandably low for many reasons includ- ing Decoration Day at the Pine Grove Cemetery where Rev. Chas. Clarke gave the ministerial message. At the Island Service Rev. Clarke's message was based on the life of Peter who usually acted upon impulse and from his speed in action often came to grief. But Peter did not always fail because when Jesus reached out his hand for help Peter was willing to accept it and cling to Him. A story from St. Francis is recorded of a little girl put- ting a block into a pail when lowering it into a well for water. The reason given was to keep the pail steady. This can illustrate a point for us to ponder. If we put the cross and its meaning into the centre of our hearts, it will help to steady our lives. Tickets are going very well for the Strawberry Supper at the Hall, July 8. You can still get some for 5:30 and if you're lucky you may find a place at 6:30. Call your correspondent. On Sunday, flowers at the Island Church were in memory of Mrs. Day and Mrs. Merle Jones. We also appreciated the lovely floral arrangements which were in place for the Saturday wedding. The Women's Institute Auction is drawing closer in July and still gives you time to collect items you no longer need. : Er ARMY HAE ai TAA PRO AR SS 8 ery PATRI R, VERBENA TRA WA Td ET LP HE FI 3 ow SIF Nop iy at KU R & ATE oF A will resume July 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Armprior. The June meeting of the Women's Institute was held on Wednesday evening June 24, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Neil Hunter. Mrs. Iva Phoenix, vice- president presided in the absence of Mrs. McKean. After the Opening Ode, and Mary Stewart Collect, Mrs. Phoenix read a poem "On Perfection". She then thanked our hostess for invit- ing us. The Roll Call - "Why do you prefer rural living over city living," was answered by 16 members and 3 visitors. The minutes of the May meeting approved as read. Our district director, Mrs. Marion Innes gave a very interesting report on a meet- ing held in Port Perry in May. Eight ladies from Greenbank had attended. A bus trip was left to be planned for a later date. Roll Calls for the coming year are to be handed in as the program are to be print- ed soon. Mrs. Bessie Donneral reported for consumer affairs - "On Vegetables", and Mrs. Iva Phoenix report- ed for Agriculture and Canadian Industries - "On Weeds". Our guest speaker, Mrs. Jean Martyn of Port Perry, was then introduced. Mrs. Martyn showed her beautiful slides on a recent trip to Germany, where she had attended the "Passion Play". These pictures, and the commentary were most interesting and informative. Mrs. Rachael McMillan thanked Mrs. Martyn for coming, and presented her with a gift. A social hour followed, with a delicious lunch served by the group in charge. p ---- SPECIAL po -- ---- Sw a' SPECIAL SPECIAL y x ) A yodres tails 2% NL Ry u EBAY VATA BY) AYALA hy EET *% I'm Your Local Authorized ALCAN DEALER.
