MoJack Pee Wees And for the first time since the annual benefit began six years' ago, the inevitable finally happened: a fire. alarm sounded. It turned out, however, to be a false alarm. There was a good crowd of spectators on hand for the event, and about $150 was raised for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. ' win round robin \ by Carol Wilbur ~ On Saturday July 11, the MoJack Pee Wees won the 'hardware in a 4 team round . robin tournament held in Port Perry. Bobby Orr hit a. double for 2 RBI's to squeek through with an 8-7 win over Goodwood in the first game. 'One of the best games of the day was a 3-1 loss for Port Perry against East Guillimbury. Dave Burnett had a double in the last N inning to start a rally, Jeff Cockerton had a single but we couldn't capitalize on the men on base. Next came Uxbridge which seems to be our down- fall. After seven innings we had a tie game at 18-18 more like a football game with many errors on both sides. In the bottom of the eighth Greg Warriner got on base with an error to the second base man. Lee Wilbur had a double to advance Greg to third. Dave Burnett came up to bat, he had been hitting well all day so Uxbridge decided to walk him, On an illegal pitch our base runner advanced to make the score 19-18 for Port Perry. The final game of the day was against 'East Gwillim- bury. It was an easy 13-4 win" this time, as their No. 1. pitcher had pitched all three games and had to be re- placed in the fourth game. Lee Wilbur had a home with 8-7 squeaker run, Dave Burnett had a triple, Steven Durham had 2 doubles, with many singles from other team members. Wayne Venning presented team members with trophies to make a very hot day worth while. Jeff Cockerton and Dave Burnett did a good job 'on the mound for the Mo- Jacks. In prior games to the tourney Port Perry defeated Goodwood 7-4 and were defeated by Uxbridge 5-3 and by Unionville 12-11. The Mojacks will travel to 'Bradford to play in a tourna- ment for the League Cham- Piohship this coming week- end.
