However, since that time, the Church has agreed to scale down the proposed add- © ition thus reducing the rear yard variance required. More importantly, she said, the Church has receiv- ed written permission from the Durham Board of Ed- ucation to allow church goers to use the parking lot at Port Perry High School, just across the street. Pastor Batten said after the meeting Monday that the present Pentacostal Church building on Lilla Street is now too small for the con- gregation. She said the Baptist Church is also concerned about the outcome as that congregation is now building a new church east of Port Perry and is naturally anx- ious to sell the Rosa Street Church. An outdoor recreation study is being undertaken this summer by the Kawar- tha Region Conservation Authority to find out what locpl residents find most and least attractive about the Kawartha Lakes area. Part of this study is a question- naire which will be sent out to selected residents of Fenelon Falls, Lindsay and Scugog Townships. Of the many outdoor activities pursued in the region, eight have been chosen for detailed study to give an idea of areas where the Authority may become involved. Summer activities being looked at are swimming, boating and picnicking along with hiking, fishing and hunting. Snow- mobiling and cross-country skiiing have been selected as winter activities for the study.
