The Port Perry Juniors were eliminated from 0.A.S.A. playoffs with losses on the weekend to Bradford and Caledonia in a double knock-out round robin tourney played in Caledonia. In the game against Brad- the Port Juniors couldn't buy a run and wound up on the short end of a 3-0 score. Port Perry's second loss was by a score of 6-0 to Caledonia in a well played game by both teams which was not really indicative of the final score. from The 3-2 score in the championship final between Pickering and the Hawks was a little deceptive as Pickering built a 3-0 lead which held until late in the final period. Robinson, McConnel and Cairns scored the three goals for Picker- ing. The Hawks seemed to enjoy a territorial advantage in play during the game, but ~ had trouble finishing plays and getting good shots 'on net. The game was almost out of reach before Brian Carr notched an unassisted goal for the Hawks with just over five minutes left .in the match to make it 3-1. And with just five seconds left, Colin Wackett from Caledonia got several clean hits and were strong running the base paths. The Juniors did manage two wins in the weekend tournament which was inter- rupted by rain. Kevin Walker hurled a Ritchie LeFort and Bill Bridge found the range to make the score respectable. The Hawks reached the championship game with a 6-2 win over M and M Tire of Port Perry, and a tight 5-4 victory over Simons of Oshawa.
