Allan Lavis officiated at the ceremony. Mr. Ross Metcalf provided the music. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Shirley Reid, Oshawa, and the late George Reid. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willy Houthuys, Port Perry. Given in marriage by her grandfather, Mr. Henry Thompson, the bride wore a summer gown of chiffonella chiffon trimmed in floral Venice lace. The fitted bodice flowed into an A-line skirt which flowed into a full chapel length train: : The matching headpiece was trimmed in Venice lace, highlighted with pearl essences holding a two- tiered French illusion veil. R. 3 Port Perry and Paul Stanley, only son of Stan and Sheila Atkinson of Whitby. Rev. Robert Brawn officiated at the double ring ceremony. Rhonda's aunt, Gloria Forder played the wedding music and Debbie Jones was the soloist. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride looked radiant in a nylon sheer gown with a Queen Anne neckline. 'The bodice and Bishop .sleeves were trimmed with Venetian lace and tiny seed pearls. Her matching waist length veil featured a Juliette cap also trimmed with seed pearls. R. 1 Black- stock, brother-in-law of the bride. The groom and his attendants wore charcoal grey pin striped trousers with black jackets and grey striped ascots. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the home of the bride's parents. The reception and wedding dance was held at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall, Port Perry, with Ralph Ballard, brother- in-law of the bride as master of ceremonies. Following che dance the happy couple enjoyed a Carribean cruise for their honeymoon. The grooms parents enter- tained the wedding party at their home in Whitby follow- ing the rehearsal. Prior to the wedding Rhonda was honoured at several showers. Whitby Thursday Night Ladies Bowling League held a- miscellaneous shower at the home of Diane Butland; Lou Ann Birkett and Jackie Esselink hosted a personal shower at Lou Ann's home; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Corner. held a neighbourhood shower at their home on Gilbert Street in Whitby. A family shower was held by Kim Gallogley and Jean Gallogley at Kim's home; Lorna Atkins and Jean Lewis hosted a family shower in - Orono. Debbie and Ted Lintner, Oshawa, held a Jack and Jill shower. Sisters of the bride, Gale Ballard and Anna McLaughlin were co-hostesses at a wine and cheese party. Cousin of the groom, Anna Durward had a ~ family shower in Canning: ton.
