Trip of Interest Welcome home to Roy and Doris Nottingham of Caesarea who have recently returned from a two week trip to England when they visited Roy's cousins, Allen Nottingham, son Dennis, wife Marion and family, in the Watford - London area - they also visited Nottingham and toured the Royal Doulton and Wedgewood factories. Roy and Doris had a rail pass and spent an enjoyable week in Scotland as well, viewing many places of interest and they called on Mr. Hugh Espie's sister Martha while there. The weather was season- able - very much like Ontario. They had a smooth flight over to England - a bit turbulent on the way home. Nestleton United Church being built in 1900 observed its 81st anniversary in the present Church on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. with a very fine congregation on hand to help celebrate. The first church was built 146 years ago. How very much we owe our ancestors - the loved ones who have gone awhile. Let us face the day with courage and go forward in this 81st anniversary year. It is our responsibility to keep the Church open and growing. The weather was ideal after our brief wintry spell and many visitors were warmly welcomed by the minister Rev. John Smith, our anniversary speaker, used as his sermon topic "The Incomplete Church" presenting excellents thoughts for the many folk present, to take home. For the special anni- versary music Mr. Herb Vine, Blackstock, sang two inspiring solos "The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference" and "In the Garden" which were much appreciated by the congre- gation. The choir sang an Anthem "Surely Goodness and Mercy", a very catchy sacred number and a pleasure to sing. Organist - Mrs. L. Malcolm. Mr. Ralph Sadler and Mr. Grahame Fish made the presentation of the offering. The delightful little folk of the Sunday School with their shining faces along with their dedicated teachers add a great deal to the service. Pots of Mums enhanced the Sanctuary and were donated by the United Church Women. Ther'e will be no service at Nestleton Sunday, November 1st, due to Black- stock Anniversary service held at 11 a.m. We trust many from Nestleton will join with Blackstock next Sunday and help them cele- brate - Rev. Dr. W. F. Banister will be the guest speaker. A social hour will follow the service inthe C. E. Room. Nestleton Presbyterian Church On a fair Sunday, October 25, the service was conduc- ted by Mr. Ian Shaw of Knox College. He read portions of Deuteronomy and Luke.
