Commencing with the next issue of the Star, new policies and deadlines will come into effect. These changes have been necessitated due to increased costs in producing your community newspaper, and the increasing loss of revenue from non-payment or slowness in paying accounts. Perhaps the most noticable of the new policies will be that advertising to appear in the paper must be paid for before it will be published. This does not include busi- nesses or organizations that have had accounts with the Star for years, but will effect individuals placing ads in the columns ofthe classified or display advertising throughout the pages of the paper. Two alternatives for payment of these ads have been arranged. The first and possibly the easiest is for advertising to be paid for in cash at the time of placing. TheotherisbyuseofyourVisacard. Advertising phoned into the office prior to publication will be held until 12 noon Monday for payment. This would mean that if you phoned an ad in to the Star on Friday the ad could either be paid immediately by use of your Visa, or we will hold the ad until you have had a chance to get down to the Star office to make paymeft. Another change taking place this week is the deadline for advertising material in the Star. Effective immediately all advertising must be in the office by 12 noon Monday before publicationto be placed inthat issue. Incaseit is not convenient to get to our office during business hours, a mail slot has been added to the front door at 235 Queen Street. When placing your ad by telephone simply ask the receptionist the cost of the ad and then you can slip the payment through the slot in the evening or onthe weekend. : We are sure that the changes outlined here will not cause too much incon- : MN OW venience, but like any change they will take time to fully understand. If you have any questions regarding the changes please contact the office during regular business hours at 985-7383 or drop by the office and we will gladly explain them. i nd . = " i CT 235QUEENST.,P.0.BOX90 TELEPHONE: PORT PERRY, ONTARIO LOB 1NO 985-7383; 985-7384 RRS AT RE a ~ ~~ - AS ~~ b v 3 HD I NE eat why - - SEER i pnd » Eek ---- ~ 3 LET Ra "y - -- - aN Lov _r ~- Ce Set iY EE Di A SB, -~ --~ A " Pw ~~ _- Tne cc A 4 RAD
